Corey Davis was the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2016. His career 5,285 yards receiving is the best all-time in major college football. Had 33 receiving touchdowns going into his senior year. In his final season at Western Michigan, Davis recorded 1,500 yards on 97 receptions and added 19 more touchdowns. He wasn’t highly recruited out of high-school due to academic issues. He did not participate at the combine or at his Pro Day due to ankle injury. Davis said he had two torn ligaments in his ankle repaired following the 2016 season.
Prototypical height and weight. Strong leader who is very coach-able. Elite route runner (Reggie Wayne abilities). Great mental awareness and focus. Intelligent and smart football player. Very good run blocker who enjoys it.
Needs to be more physical. Needs to do a better job contesting 50/50 balls. Did not have stiff competition in the MAC. Sometimes fights with the ball, leading to 11 drops in his senior year.
Corey Davis is the ultimate producer. Everything is there for Davis to be the best wide receiver in this draft class. He could be a Day 1 starter, and a difference maker. He should hear his name called in the top 20, and might even go in the top 10.
