Following an impressive freshman season, Josh Rosen was on the shortlist as a favorite to win the 2016 Heisman Trophy. However, Rosen struggled in his sophomore campaign, completing less that 60% of his passes over the first 6 games. He missed the remainder of the season with an injury to his throwing shoulder.
Excellent arm strength. Has good awareness in the pocket. Does a good job reading defenses. Quick release. Does a good job recognizing the blitz. Good Pre-Snap Reads. Good throwing mechanics. Good footwork. Flashes dual threat traits. Is a great competitor. Good height, weight, and speed for the position.
Missed the final 6 games in 2016 due to an injury of his throwing shoulder. Only average accuracy on short to medium throws. Inconsistent accuracy on deep throws.
The medical check will be important for NFL teams. At times Rosen has a wide stance throwing the ball, and it causes some balls to come out high (correctable).
11/04/2016 – Josh Rosen will miss the rest of the 2016 season due to a throwing shoulder (nerve) injury suffered against Arizona State on October 8th.
