Strengths
Extremely athletic and fast. Ball hawk who is capable of making spectacular interceptions. Always around the ball, and gets to it quickly.

Weaknesses
Lack of experience; Only a one year starter. Can arm tackle at times. Missed 17 tackles in 2016. Had surgery to repair a torn labrum and a hernia.

Summary
Malik Hooker’s ability to get to the ball quickly really stands out on tape. He did not run at the combine or at his Pro Day, but he looks like a sub 4.5 guy. The interception against Bowling Green (2016) was a thing of beauty. Injuries kept him from working out at the combine and at his Pro Day.

Bottom Line
Malik can play both in the box and single high, but there is no doubt his talents are best suited as the center fielder. He is the best free safety in this draft class, and he won’t be waiting long on Thursday. If he stays healthy then he will be a star in the NFL.
