Christian Wilkins Scouting Report

Prospect Information

Defensive Statistics

Christian Wilkins improved every year at Clemson. Played defensive tackle his freshman year, primarily moved outside to defensive end his sophomore year, and moved back inside his junior season. Wears the No. 42 in honor of his late grandfather who was born in 1942, and was accidentally shot by a police officer.

Best Position Fit
Defensive Tackle 3-technique

Rare combination of size, speed, and athleticism. Very high football IQ. He is a natural leader. People want to follow this young man, and they believe in him. Battle tested against top-notch competition. Is consistently around the ball. Uses his quick hands well to disengage blocks. Does an excellent job timing his jumps to obstruct passing lanes.

Missed 18 percent of his tackle attempts. Needs more pass rush production. For 2017, he only recorded 19 pressures (including 4 sacks) on 301 pass rush snaps.

Christian Wilkins has the skills to become an all pro, and play for many years in the NFL. The film clearly showed that opposing teams plan was to double-team him. Whether it’s on the field or off, he always shows up. I believe this young man is going to make an immediate impact on the city that drafts him. He could possibly have a Peyton Manning type of impact on the city that calls his name. There is something intangibly special about him.
