Tremaine Edmunds and his brother Terrell (safety) were teammates at Virginia Tech, and both have decided to enter the 2018 NFL draft. Their father Ferrell Edmunds, was a Pro Bowl tight end for the Miami Dolphins in 1989 and 1990.

Very tall linebacker with long arms. Has excellent speed to track plays on the opposite side of the field. High energy player. Has good man-to-man cover skills. He can play in any system.

Often looks like he is thinking too much on the field. Can get behind on the play, and have to rely on his athleticism. Gets lost in zone coverage, and doesn’t capitalize on his long frame to disrupt passing lanes as much as he could.

Tremaine Edmunds is one of the most interesting prospects of 2018. With his unique frame and skill-set, he could be a full-time off-ball linebacker or possibly play full-time on the edge. He has the length, speed, and agility that we don’t normally see playing in the middle of the field. A defensive coordinator is going to have fun moving him around. Although Edmunds played mostly in the middle throughout his college career, it’s possible a team might try him out on the edge. He is nowhere near polished and has a lot of upside.
